TERMS
Terms of Service
Effective August 22, 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of Prison Audio websites, players, accounts, creation workflows, and related services. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure. Information you provide must be accurate. We may assign account capabilities based on whether you are a listener, creator, family representative, partner, or administrator.
Acceptable use
You may not use Prison Audio to break the law, evade institutional communication controls, threaten or harass others, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, distribute malware, interfere with the service, impersonate another person, or gain unauthorized access. Prison Audio does not provide three-way calls, call transfers, unrestricted messaging, or general internet access to incarcerated users.
Creator content and ownership
Creators retain ownership of original content they provide, subject to any separate written production, stewardship, publishing, or distribution agreement. By asking Prison Audio to host, produce, publish, or promote content, you grant us the permissions reasonably necessary to perform those requested services, including formatting, editing, displaying, reproducing, distributing, and creating directed promotional assets.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for material you submit. Prison Audio may decline, limit, unpublish, or remove content that violates law, these terms, platform rules, safety standards, or the rights of others.
Listening, clips, and community features
Listening access is for personal, lawful use. Shareable clips must remain connected to their source and may not be used deceptively or to misrepresent a creator. Comments, questions, tips, credits, subscriptions, and other community or payment features may be introduced under additional terms displayed when they become available.
Third-party services
Prison Audio may connect to Google and public podcast, music, video, social, payment, hosting, or distribution services. Those services have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for changes, outages, moderation decisions, or account actions taken by third-party platforms.
Paid production services
Paid Story Studio packages purchase the production services described at checkout, not currency, stored value, a charitable donation, or a guaranteed public release. Unless a different written scope is agreed, work begins after payment and project acceptance. The package includes one reasonable revision. Additional recording, editing, research, rights clearance, or revision work may require a separate quote.
Customers must provide accurate project information and must not purchase a project to harass, exploit, impersonate, threaten, or evade a facility rule. Prison Audio may decline a project that is unsafe, unlawful, non-consensual, technically impractical, or outside the published scope. If we decline before work begins, we will refund the package price.
Recording consent and publication
The customer is responsible for identifying every participant and intended use. Every speaker must knowingly consent to recording. Privileged legal calls are not eligible. A finished episode remains private unless the necessary participants and rights holders approve public release. Prison Audio does not guarantee publication or distribution by any third-party platform.
Availability and changes
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Beta and preview features may change substantially and should not be relied on as permanent.
Disclaimers and responsibility
The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Prison Audio is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, nonpayment under a separate agreement, or violation of these terms. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Canada, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Questions, notices, or account requests can be sent to mike@prisonaudio.com.
